Eluca - Boiled Wool Rug
Estimated Dispatch: 26 November 2024 - 5 December 2024
Description
This rug makes such a gorgeous centrepiece, handwoven in the peaceful mountain villages of Nepal on traditional back-strap looms, using un-dyed local sheep’s wool. The rugs are then washed in hot water to felt the wool and bring the whole design together.
Radhi weaving is a traditional craft in Nepal. They are thick and weighty and make unique, warm, hard-wearing and washable rugs. Stitch by Stitch works with a social business organisation in Nepal committed to strengthening the livelihoods of home-based workers alongside developing local craft traditions.
